Tia (she/they): The Foundation
Tia is the steady, calming force of Sapphic Self. Living with hypermobility and constant pain, she is the “Guarding Knight” of the brand—protective and resilient. With a background as a Lead Healthcare Worker in dementia and end-of-life care, Tia wrote the very care plans that ensured comfort and dignity for those at their most fragile.
Today, Tia manages our recipes, blending the ancient wisdom of the witches who came before us with her own experiments. She is our admin boss and the master of the Cricut (which takes a special kind of knack to behave). If you get a response to a message or a perfectly cut sticker, that’s Tia. She’d always rather be inside, cozy with a book.
Mae (she/they): The Visionary
Mae is a creative genius with the heart of an “outdoor bumpkin.” A former District and Cardiac Nurse, Mae has spent years managing long-term conditions and seeing the most difficult wounds heal through plant-derived treatments. She lives with ME/CFS, meaning she navigates deep exhaustion and “crashes” that require her to work in harmony with her energy.
Mae is our resident green-witch. She grows, harvests, and processes most of our botanicals right from our own land, believing nature holds the best magic. She is the artist behind our labels, the one who hand-slices and dries every citrus wheel, and the muscle behind the sewing machine for our heat packs.
Kimmie (they/them): The Creative Companion
Kimmie is our best friend and the newest “chronically ill bean” to join the team. Navigating POTS, fatigue, and mental health challenges, Kimmie helps us keep the magic moving. They work alongside us on our small, handmade batches and join Mae on foraging trips when the energy is there. Kimmie has taken over our social media to give Mae’s “raccoon brain” a rest, ensuring our community stays connected even when we’re in a flare-up.
We all had to leave our careers in professional healthcare because of our health conditions, but we never stopped being carers. We are “bigger girls” who don’t follow the norm in anything. In our friendship circles, we’re often referred to as “the lesbians” or “the mothers”—the ones you go to when you need a gift that actually helps, a moment of calm, or a bit of steady advice.
