Stirring the Sparkle: The Magic of the Water Reset
The world feels heavy right now. Between the news, the bills, and the general noise of life, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut.
We talk a lot about the Sapphic Gaze—that specific, tender way we look at the people we love. But we rarely apply it to ourselves. Treating your own healing and self-care with that same tenderness is a game changer.
Sometimes, when you can’t think your way out of a bad head-space, connecting with water allows you to rinse those bad vibes off.

Water isn’t just a liquid; it’s the essence of life. A moving force that shapes the earth and connects us all. It can be used as a reset button for your energy, your mood, and your spirit.
A Universal Threshold
Washing is one of those things humans have always known is about more than just getting rid of dirt. It’s a universal sacred act. You see it everywhere across history and culture as a way to mark a transition.
The Romans would wash their hands to move from the outside world into a sacred space.
The phrase “wash your hands of this” orginates from the symbolic act used to clear yourself of the dirt and negativity of something no longer wanted to be associated with.
In Islam, the practice of Wudu prepares the body and spirit for prayer.
In Tarot, water and cups are are associated with emotions.
Whether it’s for a god, your own spirituality, or just your mental health, washing is a bridge. It’s an acknowledgment that you are allowed to leave the old version of your day behind and step into something fresh.

Why Water? (The science-ish bit)
We are mostly water, so we respond to it on a cellular level. We need it to function.
Water is a conductor; it holds energy. When you speak to it—whether that’s out loud or just in your head—the water carries that vibration.

Think of it this way: Stress, boredom, and even trauma are like frozen energy. They make you feel rigid, stuck, or cold. Water is fluid. By getting into a warm or moving body of water, you’re melting that ice and shifting that stagnation.

You’re telling your system it’s okay to flow again.
Water is also reflective. Light bounces off it, travels through it, and moves with it. Sometimes what we see is distorted and changed from what it originally was, giving us a different perspective.

Connecting with the Flow
Magic doesn’t have to be expensive or perfect. It’s about the intention you stir into the stream.
Working with water can be as simple as running a bath, stepping into the shower, standing in the rain, washing your face, collecting rainwater, or visiting a body of water.
I love sitting by the window on a rainy day, watching the ground soak up the water and listening to the sound as it connects with the earth. I also love visiting a duck pond or a lake, and watching life move around the water. I can zone out of the world around me and breath out.

Mae enjoys swimming, diving under the water and feeling the current rush by her skin. They find the rhythmic breathing and gliding movements relaxing – their preferred mindfulness practice.

They also collect rain water for magic practices (making moon/storm water for spells), and for garden care. Water pulls out nutrients and minerals, and holds this magic for it to be transported to where it’s needed, be it in a simmer pot or plant roots.

Kimmie loves a bath, soaking in warm water like human soup, letting their skin become wrinkled with osmosis, and scrubbing away the bad thoughts.

Our easy 4 step water ritual
A simple way to practice working with water to set your intentions is washing.

Setting the Stage: Stirring the Intention
Run a bath, step in the shower, wash your hands, or clean your face.
Manifesting? Watch the foam of a bath bomb or soap, and imagine your goals spreading out just like the color.

Clearing the day? Focus on the scent of the salts or soap as it fills the air, imagining it scrubbing your aura clean.

As you stir the water or wash your skin, whisper what you need. It could be
“I am letting go of that work shift,”
or
“I am ready for something new,”
or even just
“I am safe here.”
The water is there to carry that intention for you.
The Submerge and the Flow
There is a specific kind of peace when your ears go under the waters surface—the world goes silent. In a shower, it’s that moment you let the water run over your head and down your back.

This is about bodily autonomy. For ten minutes, you aren’t a worker, a daughter, or a stressed-out human. You are just a person being held in a warm embrace.
Your skin is yours. Your space is yours.
It’s a protective pocket where the outside world can’t reach you.
The Big Release: The Spiral Down
Whether you’re stepping out of the shower or getting out of the tub, take a second to look at the drain.
Visualize the water taking everything you don’t want with it. See the stress, the bad dates, the self-doubt, and the heavy energy leaving your skin and heading straight into the pipes. You’re watching the old version of the day wash away. The old energy is in the plumbing now; you’re the clean slate. Step out as a new version of yourself, leaving the debris behind.

The Afterglow
The ritual doesn’t end when you turn off the taps. Moisturizing afterward is how you seal the spell.
As you rub in your lotion or oil, think of it as laying down a fresh layer of protection. You’ve let go of the old; now you’re protecting the new skin you’re in.

You’ve done the work. Now go take a nap, drink some tea, or head out into your day.
You’ve hit the reset.
Water is here to hold you, always.
Make time to pause and take a moment to connect with water. Take something you do everyday or try something new.
It doesn’t have to be big or grand. It’s not for show; It’s for you.

With love and a warm ripple,
